The Pedra da Gávea hike

26-04-2023

With physical difficulty, vegetation and altitude, the Pedra da Gavea hike is known as the most difficult in Rio de Janeiro. But it is really worth the effort, since this hike offers one of the most exceptional views of the city, a real postcard. At more than 800 meters high, it allows you to have a perfect view of the numerous beaches of Rio : from Ipanema to Niteroi, but also Barra ! Historically, the Pedra da Gavea mountain even allowed the navigators to find their way. It is, in fact, one of the highest coastal mountains in the world !

Located in the C sector of the Tijuca National Park, it can be reached from the Jardim Oceânico subway station. Heat and humidity linked to the sun and the forest are also part of the adventure… But with a few precautions, this experience remains a must in Rio de Janeiro and promises incredible memories.
