A tour with the tramway in Santa Teresa - Rio de Janeiro
03-05-2023
Did you know that this tour still exists and runs every day ?
The tramway ride is a trip back in time and costs R$20.00 per person.
The famous tramways, besides being a trademark of Rio de Janeiro and a true postcard, are also real transportation for residents and tourists who want to get around and get to know the Santa Teresa neighborhood.
Santa Teresa carries Rio de Janeiro in its essence. Its walls, bars, and houses tell stories with colors and phrases for the more attentive eye !
Culture, bohemianism, gastronomy, and nature are elements that make up the beauty of the neighborhood. The tramway goes crossing the streets of the neighborhood and residents in their routines go up and down taking turns with tourists who are enchanted by the beautiful views from the top of the hill, from up there there is a panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro.
It is certainly a worthwhile experience, as you will feel like a true Carioca from the old days ! A super tip is to get off at the "Largo do Curvelo" station and walk on foot, passing by the Chácara do Céu Museum and going down to the Escadaria Selaron, which is another well known and visited tourist attraction in Rio de Janeiro.
