Gramado (RS) – Attraction for every month of the year!

Gramado is a city located in Rio Grande do Sul, the southernmost state of Brazil, strongly influenced by German settlers throughout the 19th century. Its scenery is mostly mountainous, and the main attractions are beautiful hydrangeas in spring, as well as charming alpine chalets, chocolatiers, and handicrafts. Gramado is the seat of renowned chocolate factories that bring much tourism to the city especially at Easter time, when Brazilian tourists most enjoy exotically lower temperatures close to 14ºC and the close of the renowned colorful hydrangeas season that will soon return to an orange hue until next spring.
At Easter time the streets are stunningly decorated just like at Christmas, but of course the chocolate factories have a special Easter appeal to reminds everybody of their childhood. Tourists enjoy a walk in the city, particularly because it is not high season in Gramado at this time of the year and the prices are at the lowest and there are many attractions such as musicals, plays and lots of gastronomy.
When it comes to natural beauties this mountainous city offers a number of splendid trails with water falls like “Cascata do Caracol” (Waterfall of the snail), “Cascata Véu da Noiva” (waterfall of the veil of the bride), lakes like “Lago Negro” (Black Lake), “Mini Mundo” (Small World), which is a park with another beautiful lake, and Eco parks like “Flor do Vale”, with its distillation and park, as well as “Ecoparque Sperry” and “Parque das Laranjeiras” (Orange Trees Park), which offer a bit of adventure with activities like rafting and abseiling.
In addition to all these natural beauties, Gramado has a beautiful vineyard, which offers visitors an incredible view of its vast plantation. There are also aerial cable cars in Parque da Serra, the medieval museum Castelo Saint George, car showrooms and the famous Igreja do Relógio.
Fantastic! Gramado is really a city with many attractions for every month of the year. It is best known for its Christmas attractions, but the truth is that the city stays charming throughout the year and offering many leisure options for tourists. When coming to Brazil, you should consider a visit to the city as one high ranking priority!
