The Nosso Senhor do Bonfim Church, located in Salvador in the state of Bahia, is one of the most iconic churches in the country. What makes this church particularly remarkable is its strong connection to Afro-Brazilian traditions and Candomblé, a syncretic religion of African origin practiced in Brazil. Every year, thousands of faithful flock to the Nosso Senhor do Bonfim Church to participate in the famous Lavagem Festival, a religious celebration that blends Catholic rituals with Candomblé traditions, in a spirit of religious syncretism unique to the region. It is also renowned for its 'fitas', small strips of colorful fabric that visitors attach to the church's protective grilles while making a wish.

It is an important cultural and historical symbol for the city of Salvador and for all of Brazil, worth visiting.
