Animals of Brazil : the toucan
30-03-2025
The toucan is one of Brazil’s most iconic birds. With its large orange beak, which can reach up to 20 cm, its black-and-white plumage, and its eyes surrounded by a thin blue skin, it’s hard to miss! Despite its size, its beak is very light, allowing it to easily catch fruits and insects.
Toucans are mainly found in the Amazon, the Pantanal, and around the Iguaçu Falls. They play an important role in nature by spreading the seeds of the fruits they eat, helping the forest regenerate.
Seeing a toucan in its natural habitat is an unforgettable experience. If you travel to Brazil, keep your eyes open—you might spot this spectacular bird perched on a branch or soaring through the air!
